Master With Fireplace And Library

Project Description

Old stained carpeting makes room for the beautiful Brazilian Koa flooring in the beginning stage of this master bedroom project. The planned library space will be highlighted by laying the flooring at a 45 degree angle, while the his and hers closets get a 90 degree treatment.

Here is the final result of the master bedroom’s Koa flooring installation featured below. An L-shaped floor- to-ceiling library was built into the office space, now separated with a half wall and repurposed church window divider (kept rustic with silver detail to match the sconces).

The corner fireplace and accent wall feature a gorgeous stacked stone, and the entire room is wrapped in large scale crown moldings, the library outside corner finished with a floor-to-ceiling pillar. Note that the library floor is laid at a 45 degree angle, while a cowhide rug in a chevron pattern and custom leather trim anchors the work space. Antique Greek window screens complete the accent wall.

The spacious workspace offers ample lateral file storage for documents, the drawer fronts adorned with glass doorknobs as drawer pulls. Visual separation from the bedroom space is achieved with a suspended reclaimed church window frame.
